Upon your cruise ship arrival at Sharm El Sheikh marina at the morning, our representative will pick you up by a private air-conditioned vehicle to board a boat to Ras Mohammad National Park. It lies at the southern extreme of the Sinai Peninsula, overlooking the Gulf of Suez on the west and the Gulf of Aqaba to the east. About 12 km distant from Sharm El-Sheikh.

The park spans an area of 480 square km , including 135 square km of surface land area & 345 square km area over water. It has two small bay inlets and two islands Tiran & Sanafir. In Ras Mohammad there are underwater caves formed as the result of earthquake. One hectare of mangrove forest cover 1 km shallow channel at the southernmost end of its peninsula. Near the mangrove and 150 m inland , there are open cracks in the land caused by earthquakes, some of it are 40 m long and 5 m wide. Within the cracks are pools of water 14 m deep.

In 1983 , the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency established the area as a marine reserve for the protection of marine and terrestrial wildlife & to protect it against urban sprawl. Ras Mohammad means in Arabic Mohammad’s head. The name arose because in side view the contour of then cliff looks like the profile of a bearded man’s face, with strata providing the nose and bearded chin.

The coral reef is close to the shoreline. More than 220 species of coral are formed here , 1 m below the sea surface with a width of 50  m in most places. it is home to more than 1000 species of fish , 40 species of star fish , sea turtles and 100 species of mollusc. shark reef are popular areas for divers. The area serve as a place of rest and nourishment for migrating birds.

The park contains some of the best snorkeling and diving locations in the world offering an unforgettable experience of sea life. Explore several unique location within the park and spend the day snorkeling, swimming and relaxing on the boat. An open buffet lunch will be served on board. Later you will be escorted back to your cruise ship.
